With Roy Brown Eagle

Sunday, November 25, 1 – 3 p.m.

$25 Admission *

Longtime communal drummer Roy Brown Eagle returns to ISD-DC to weave his creative magic. First, Roy will serve as a storyteller during the Sunday Service prior to the homily. Then following the service, he’ll guide participants through a communal drumming experience in the sacred space created by the energies of the group throughout the evening. No prior drumming or musical experience is required. Participants need not bring a drum, though those who do have their own drums are encouraged to bring them. Other percussive devices will also be available.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn the basics of a communal drumming experience, including:
– Drum circle etiquette and appropriate handling of drums
– Basic stroke and rhythm patterns
– Polyrhythmic drumming patterns

The afternoon will DrumCircle at ISDDC2conclude with a optional spirit journey experience intended to channel the positive energy raised by communal drumming into powerful personal healing.
