*Included for Participants in “Spring Awakening”
Longtime communal drummer Roy Brown Eagle returns to ISD-DC to guide participants through a communal drumming experience in the sacred space created by the energies of the group throughout the evening. No prior drumming or musical experience is required. Participants need not bring a drum, though those who do have their own drums are encouraged to bring them. Other percussive devices will also be available.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn the basics of a communal drumming experience, including:
– Drum circle etiquette and appropriate handling of drums
– Basic stroke and rhythm patterns
– Polyrhythmic drumming patterns
The evening will conclude with a optional spirit journey experience intended to channel the positive energy raised by communal drumming into powerful personal healing.
